I took it to a radiator shop and they said the heater core was not clogged. They blew it out with water pressure. All functions (mechanical) work. AC, defrost, heater all change as they should.

1. remove lower-outer grille held in by clip (inboard) and screw (outboard) 2. lay on your back looking up. 3. remove screw from underside of signal assembly. 4. gently pull assembly out of bumper. 5. do whatever you need to do. reverse process to put back together. Thanks alot, I will give this a go tomorrow!!
Jul 2, 2015. #9. That's not just a little oil, that is crazy. I'd do a flush and fill and see what happens. Its possible the heater core is plugged. Check the hoses going into it, they both should be close to the same temp, with the inlet being very hot. If the inlet is hot and the outlet cool, heater core is plugged.
I believe older platforms (Golf mk4 and Audi A4 B6/7) have it under the glove compartment but I think on the mk5 it under the top vent. Work the thumb wheel from side to side while checking the airflow which should stop and start again. Sometimes these doors can get stuck or broken which will block the air flow, in this case the vent will need to be replaced. There are two air intakes for the HVAC system, one is fresh air which is drawn in at the base of the windshield, the
Do You have any airflow at all coming out of the vents on our Volkswagen Passat B6 If You're not feeling anything at all, that's going to almost certainly be an issue with the blower fan. The first thing You should check is if the fuse for the blower has blown; if there was a short or surge in the system, the fuse takes the damage so the motor doesn't. If that's all good, then it's possible

A couple of weeks ago my dad's B6 TDI passat's AC stopped working. It only blew warm air. The weird thing is, after I checked it, the heater also doesn't seem to be working. It does blow air, quite well actually, which means the fan is still working, and the fuses are good, so those are not the issue.
Reasons A Car Heater Is Blowing Cold Air. The most common reasons why a car heater is blowing cold air are due to a low coolant level, a malfunctioning thermostat, broken heater flaps, or air in the cooling system. It can also be caused by a clogged heater core or faulty heater controls. Here is a more detailed list of the common causes of why
The battery is dead I cannot use the key fob neither open the car, since emergency key does not work. Emergency key does turn 90 degrees both ways but the car door does not open. What do I do? I have to pick up the kids from school. ? Sorted. YouTube gave me the answer: apply W40 to the key hole. Sorted.
Also there are services online that will rebuild the cluster and VagCom it if necessary for a reasonable price. $50-$150 usually. Or I finally got a ImmoBypass Gold switch that is compatible with my model and year. The newer the car the better the odds the switch will work. VW dealer will give a $2500 estimate.
